Charles Barr Concerts for Head Start

“The children’s eyes always light up when you come. They talk about it for days after. Thank you for all you do.”

Texas Winds believes music teaches discipline, problem solving, working with others, and self-expression. As a partner with Head Start, Texas Winds has a unique opportunity to contribute to the early learning environment of preschool children by stimulating their imagination, intellectual curiosity and self-esteem.

As the only arts component of the Head Start curriculum, our MEET THE INSTRUMENTS series enriches the experience of children in their first formal educational setting.

The Ugly Duckling – Cello & Piano
The Little Engine That Could – Percussion
Duke Ellington & Frog and Toad – Trombone & Double Bass
Hansel and Gretel – Violin & Keyboard
The Little Boy That Cried Wolf – Trumpet & Tuba
The Hare and the Tortoise – Clarinet & Bassoon

MEET THE INSTRUMENTS educational programs given in 56 Dallas and Fort Worth Head Start, Mi Escuelita and Child Care Associates Centers, serving a total of 6,250 children.
