A long time resident of Montgomery, Texas, Ihor Koszman was born in the Ukraine on April 6th, 1935. He emigrated to the United States in 1949 and entered Columbia University. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Doctorate of Engineering and spent much of his professional career as a Chemical Engineer at ExxonMobil.

Mr. Koszman was politically active and worked to secure freedom for political prisoners in the former Soviet Union during the 1960s and 1970s.

Ihor loved the outdoors, specifically hiking and gardening, and was a long-time member of the Lone Star Hiking Trail Club. He was especially proud of his tomatoes and cucumbers.

Ihor and Maria Koszman had two sons, Victor and Alexander. Ihor passed away August 9, 2012.

Victor Koszman established the Ihor Koszman Concerts for Hospice in loving memory of his father.
