Charles Barr Concert Series
Charles Barr Concerts for Head Start
Texas Winds believes music teaches discipline, problem solving, working with others, and self-expression. As a partner with Head Start, Texas Winds has a unique opportunity to contribute to the early learning environment of preschool children by stimulating their imagination, intellectual curiosity and self-esteem.
As the only arts component of the Head Start curriculum, our MEET THE INSTRUMENTS series enriches the experience of children in their first formal educational setting.
The Ugly Duckling – Violin/Viola & Piano
The Little Engine That Could – Percussion
Duke Ellington & Frog and Toad – Trombone & Double Bass
The Boy Who Cried Wolf – Trumpet & Tuba
The Tortoise and the Hare – Clarinet & Bassoon
The Lion and the Mouse – Violin & Guitar
MEET THE INSTRUMENTS educational programs given in Dallas and Fort Worth Head Start, Mi Escuelita and Child Care Associates Centers, serving a total of 6,250 children.
